France, cathedral form mantel clock in the Gothic style, gilt bronze case with gabled facade, the 4 corners with crocket decorated pinnacles, the front and sides with ornamental lancet arches, atop a siena marble and gilt bronze base, the marble with lancet arch and foliate fence surround, Roman numeral gilt Gothic dial with blued steel Breguet style hands, 8 days, time and strike, pendule a Paris movement with silk thread suspension, c1840
CONDITION:
Case dirty and with losses and abrasions to gilding, spotting, feet now absent, dial dirty, numerals require restoration, hands dirty, marble with chips at rear lower corners (not visible from front), fence with 2 splits, movement ticks and strikes.
